Congressman puts down his dukes. Rep. Randy \”Duke\” Cunningham announced Thursday that he will not seek re-election to the House next year in light of the investigations into his various alleged dealings with a defense contractor.

On the ballot. A proposal to keep the Mount Soledad cross standing by having the city donate the surrounding land to the federal government will go to the voters on July 26, a judge ruled today.

Blame it on the milkman. Student’s midday meals will cost 25 cents more, it was decided by the San Diego Unified School District Board of Education Tuesday. It is the first price increase in the district’s school lunches in 25 years.
